Note:
The IXP425 network processor also includes a WAN/HSS network processor
engine (for UTOPIA 2). This is not connected on the VULCAN SBC.
The VULCAN is
supported with a ready-to-run Development Kit for embedded
Linux. Arcom uses RedBoot™,
a firmware utility based on the eCos RTOS, to initialise
the board.
This also serves as the boot manager for embedded Linux as well as a
download and debug tool for embedded Linux applications.
