The HART Communication Protocol is widely accepted in the industry and has become the de-facto standard for smart field devices. HART-based field devices use the same wiring for simultaneous analogue
4-20mA and digital communications in point-to-point mode or multi-drop mode that is the networking of several field devices on the same single twisted-wire pair.
